Fall Workshops
Outdoors, offline and (mostly) in person in Orinda, elementary and middle grade workshops are for kids who love to write, and also for the kids who want to, but just don't know where to start. They're a creative time out—a safe space to hone writing and public speaking skills while connecting with other kids, in an environment designed to be warm, supportive and nurturing. Over time, many classes evolve to operate like a writer's room on a television show, where young writers encourage and collaborate with one another to make their stories the best they can be, while having a ton of fun along the way. New Materials Fee
Every semester, each class selects a book, and we read through it together. Nine times out of ten, we don't finish the book, and, given that avid readers usually take the classes, the students often pester their parents for it after the class ends. This way, we can all read from it in class, and when the class is over, the book belongs to the student to keep. And, bonus, they can annotate their books as we go.
Already own the book? Just let me know, and I'll credit back your card or Zelle you the fee. Easy peasy.
